Malware-Alarm: Fake 'X Legal Support'-Mail crasht Rene’s PC – nach echten DSA-Benachrichtigungen!

Rene (@reneinhh) just called me in total panic. He’s been reporting content on X for a while and actually received real notifications about his DSA/OSC reports – he was thrilled:

“Finally, they’re responding to my complaints!”

Then this email from “X Legal Support” popped up (Subject: OSC Complaint, Ticket LT-815, Text: “We are now investigating…”). He thought: “Wow, this must be the escalation on my reports!” – and clicked it.

This is pure fake – classic phishing scam!

Real X emails only come from @x.com or @e.x.com. X never sends “Legal Support” emails with ticket numbers or “we are now investigating your account” to regular users. Scammers exploit the current EU investigations into X (DSA, Online Safety Code, fines, etc.), build trust on top of your real notifications, create panic, and boom – link leads to malware (browser exploit that crashes the system or installs bad stuff).

Quick: What is phishing?

Scammers pretend to be X (or authorities), use panic language (“Complaint! Legal action!”) to trick you into clicking. Result: Data theft, viruses, ransomware, or remote access to your PC. These fake “Legal” emails exploded in 2026 because DSA topics are all over the news.

My advice – please share this!

• Never click links in emails like this!
• Always check the real sender (header, not just display name!).
• For real reports/complaints: Check directly in your X account. If it doesn’t work or X ignores you → use your DSA rights and report to your national Digital Services Coordinator (e.g., in Ireland: Coimisiún na Meán at cnam.ie).
• Suspicious emails: Delete, report as phishing. The personal data are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed.

Tomorrow I’ll get the laptop and scan it (Live-USB, ClamAV, etc.).

Dann kam diese Mail von „X Legal Support“ (OSC Complaint, LT-815, „Wir untersuchen jetzt...“). Er dachte: „Das ist die Eskalation!“ – und klickte drauf.

Fake pur – Phishing-Scam!

Echte X-Mails nur von @x.com / @e.x.com. Keine „Legal Support“ mit Ticket-Nummern, keine automatischen „Untersuchungs“-Mails an User. Scammer missbrauchen echte DSA/OSC-Themen (aktuell laufen Untersuchungen gegen X), bauen Vertrauen auf und crashen dann mit Malware via Link (Browser-Exploit).

Sofort: Linux-PC abgestürzt.

Quick: Was ist Phishing?

Betrüger tarnen sich als X, nutzen Panik („Beschwerde! Legal!“) → Klick → Datenklau, Viren, Ransomware.

Mein Rat – teilt das!

• Nie Links in solchen Mails klicken!
• Absender-Header prüfen!
• Bei echten Reports/Beschwerden: Immer direkt im X-Account checken. Wenn's nicht klappt → DSA-Rechte nutzen und an euren nationalen Digital Services Coordinator wenden (z. B. in Irland Coimisiún na Meán: cnam.ie).
• Solche Mails: Löschen, als Phishing melden.

Morgen scanne ich den Laptop von Rene (Live-USB, ClamAV).

Seit 12. Januar 2026 bin ich von X weg – stolz drauf! Echtes Leben > Scam-Plattform.
